What kinds of support and assistance are funded?
NDIS provides funding for disability support services to eligible people based on their unique needs. This can include:
- Daily routines for individuals
- Using transportation to make it possible to engage in daily activities including community, social, and economic life
- Assistance with household chores so that the participant may keep up their home environment
- Most participants can successfully get or maintain employment in the open or subsidised labour market with the aid of workplace assistance.
- Assistance to a participant by qualified personnel in the evaluation, installation, and training of aids or equipment
- Construction and design of home modifications
- Mobility tools, and vehicle enhancements
What kinds of support and assistance are not funded by NDIS?
NDIS cannot pay for assistance that is:
- the obligation of a different government system or volunteer work
- not connected to someone's impairment
- relates to daily living expenses that are unrelated to a participant's assistance requirements, or
- is likely to hurt the person or put others at risk
Are all disabilities covered by NDIS?
Disability support services are only available for people with disabilities that:
- are caused by a reduction or loss in the structure or functions of your body, your capacity for learning and thought- Neurological, intellectual, physical, sensory, or cognitive impairments are all possible.
- resulted to permanent impairment which means all available treatments have been tried.
Who can take advantage of NDIS disability support services?
Are you interested in applying for NDIS funding but unclear on whether you qualify? Here is the NDIS eligibility checklist to help with the process:
- age range of 7 to 65
- be an Australian citizen, own a protected special category visa, reside in Australia, have a permanent residency visa, or any combination of these
- a substantial, ongoing disability that necessitates assistance from another person to carry out daily tasks
- need specialised equipment to work
- need assistance to lessen future demands
- occupy a location where NDIS services are accessible.
People who are not eligible for the NDIS can still get help to access community and other government services. Children, younger than 6, who do not fully meet the definition of developmental delay and have developmental concerns will be supported through the early childhood approach. The NDIS can provide information and help connect people with disability, their families and carers to community and other government services.
Our focus is on finding the best possible services to get NDIS participants connected
We would love to discuss how we can tailor a service that meets your needs.
