Job Details
Support Worker
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Support Worker to join our NDIS Support Services team. As a Support Worker, you will provide direct client care which aims to promote clients’ dignity and supports them to develop their potential and achieve their NDIS plan goals.
Essential Certification
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Current Ochre Card (Working with Children).
- Ability to provide updated police check on request.
- Current Drivers Licence and reliable car
- Completion of NDIS Worker Orientation Module ‘Quality, Safety and You’
- NDIS worker screening
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Provide support to clients who require assistance with tasks of daily living, personal care, transportation, domestic assistance and medication administration.
- Perform duties in a manner that promotes the dignity, independence and acquisition of skills of clients.
- Facilitate community inclusion and participation, dependent on individual needs, abilities and preferences, and support clients to establish and maintain relationships and interests through access to community activities, venues and services.
- Support clients in developing skills covering all aspects of personal development and daily living as defined by goals set in their NDIS plan.
- Support and actively encourage client’s participation in decision making about their own program and about the service.
- Encourage positive and socially appropriate behaviour, and effectively manage challenging behaviour.
- Assist with planning and facilitation of meaningful program activities.
- Ensure all clients are treated with respect and dignity and provide culturally respectful and appropriate service delivery.
- Proactively build and apply knowledge for working with persons with a disability
- Respect the privacy and confidentiality of clients.
- Maintain positive working relationships with key external disability and other service providers.
- Complete all required paperwork, documentation and records in accordance with company procedures and in a timely manner
- Maintain clear professional boundaries with clients.
- Report any issues to the Director as they arise and remain vigilant in regard to mandatory reporting requirements.
- Ensure all work is undertaken in line with the organisations’ policies, procedures and values.
- Participate in team meetings, forums, attend training, expos etc as required.
- Undertake other duties as directed
